Fish Farming

s

Anavrin is also home to over 20,000 fishes, with 5 known varieties of salt water and 3 sweet water fish varieties. With over 300,000 gallons of water, the two lakes at the farm invite wild life and aquatic birds such as Heron, Egrets and storks, in addition to the swift, and various other birds during the migratory seasons. When at its full capacity, the fish farm is expected to produce about 20 tons of fish every month. At this time, a small number of fishes are being harvested on experimental basis and for therapeutic purpose only

The Waterfalls

s

One of the most mesmerizing sights at Anavrin are the two waterfalls above the meditation centre. Using water from the RO plant, blended with fresh water and water from the filtration systems, the two waterfalls are synonymous with the ‘opposites’ in nature. The two streams originate from the same place, one with a high content of salt, and the other with fresh water, which is used by the flora and fauna for drinking purposes. Nature’s diverse ways are celebrated by these two distinct pathways, both offering life to a series of creatures, while being deadly to another species. Beautifully landscaped lighting lights up the water pathway in the night, creating a surreal atmosphere, with the sound of waterfall and water flows calming the nerves and creating a ‘zen atmosphere’ for the guests. The waterfalls are both majestic and awe-inspiring, designed to accentuate both the fresh and salt water lakes through effective water circulation.

Dealing with Pests, Flies, mosquitoes and other ‘unwanted bugs’.

At Anavrin retreat, we understand nature’s way of creating survival opportunities for all types of creatures, some of which create sickness, or can be poisonous. While we understand the need for such animals to co-exist, and the fact that the farm in itself is conducive to their survival, we also understand that common human perception of luxury is the absence of such creatures. Reptiles and rodents such as rats, lizards and snakes are known to inhabit farms in Ras Al Khaimah and have been spotted at Anavrin Equestrian Club and Retreat. Flies, desert locusts, predatory birds and mosquitoes might also be seen at site during certain months. While care is taken to reduce this menace, there is a possibility of guests finding a random amphibian or a rodent at site. Please keep the doors locked when you walk out, to avoid unpleasant surprises. All animals like creature comforts, and your room is likely to offer better climatic conditions and softer perching grounds than what is on offer outside. Sleeping nets can be provided on request.
